So far, doctors have discovered more than 21 bacteria that cause belching and burning in the stomach and stomach ulcers. However there are many cases of belching and burning that have no known cause. In that case, doctors tell the patients that they have a hiatal hernia, GERD, regurgitation, reflux or some equally fancy name and act like they have contributed something to the patient's treatment, when all they have done is give it a name and condemn that patient to a condition that will never get better, never be cured, and always require medication.

This exciting study shows that human herpes 7 is found in up to 80 percent of the stomachs of people who complain of belching and burning in their stomachs. Human Herpes virus-7 has been shown to spread through saliva and attack T lymphocytes. When a person is infected with both HHS-6 and HHS-7, it damages their immunity. Some researchers feel that it acts with HIV to cause AIDS. It may cause several skin conditions including exanthem subitum, pityriasis rosea, neurological manifestations, hepatitis, and/or transplant complications. There is no vaccine, but it can be treated with drugs called nucleoside phosphonates. See report #G123.

Human herpesvirus 7 is latent in gastric mucosa. A Gonelli, S Boccia, , Boni, A Pozzoli, C Rizzo, P Querzoli, E Cassai, D DiLuca. Journal of Medical Virology, 2001, Vol 63, Iss 4, pp 277-283.
