![]() Topic: Anyone have any experience with Gymnema tea?Posted: 04 Dec 2009 at 1:45pm |

Hello, I've just discovered I'm IR and probably have been for some time. I'm an avid coffee and tea drinker and really hate the thought of giving that up. I've come across a few listings touting the benefits of Gymnema tea for lowering blood glucose levels. Seems like a good caffeine free substitute, especially when mixed with ginseng! I would love to hear if anyone's tried this herb and found it beneficial. I would also like to hear if anyone knows if Gymnema's effect is due to a) stimulating insulin production, b) increasing cell sensitivity to insulin or c) inhibiting the liver from dumping glucose. From what I've read a) is not as good approach at lowering blood glucose levels as b) or c). Thanks!
