Is anyone on life long warfarin or coumadin therapy?

I am currently on 4mg of warfarin, & have experienced episodes of warfarin interaction with my daily diets.

Like to find out if there is any warfarin user who has similar experiences swith me?

Thanks.

My Grandma takes Warfarin and has take it for a LONG time.
I take care of her and prepare her meals.
The bottom line is that some foods like green leafy vegetables contain a lot of Vitamin K and that increases the need for a higher dosage of Coumadin.  Some foods like Cranberry Juice end up increasing your protime so you need a lower dose of Coumadin.  It's not necessary to avoid green leafy veggies, but you need to maintain a regular diet.  If you're going to eat a diet that includes a serving or two of something with a lot of vitamin K, you need to eat it daily so that your coumadin levels stay regular.  If you want to add any supplements, you need to check that they won't interfere with your Coumadin, I  can tell you that Garlic, fish oil, and flax seed oil do impact coumadin levels.  If you add or subtract any prescription medications, that could impact your coumadin levels too.  It's important to look up any new medications to see if your Protime will be impacted and get your Protime checked more often.
One thing that's going to make life easier is that I am getting a protime machine at home it's covered by Medicare.  We're going to do weekly Protimes for better control.
Dr.Gourmet has a website that lists which the levels of vitamin K in many foods.  However, it doesn't really have anything about foods on the other end of the spectrum.  If you're planning to eat big amounts of a certain food, google te food and type in the name of the food plus coumadin.
