Is it okay to do bodyweight exercises such as pushups, situps, and squats, doing one set of as many as you can daily? Or is it better to do them every other day?

New Member here..Just remember that you have to let your muscles relax and rebuild. I would do squats one day and pushups the next but this depends on your age and fitness. Get plenty of sleep as the body rebuilds at that time and just try it both ways and see what works the best..

Hello Bob,

Another interesting question.  Obviously, the more you do something, the better you get at doing it and the easier that activity becomes.

However, repeating the same or similar exercises every day depends on how sore your muscles become.
If you experience muscular stiffness and soreness, then give that exercise a miss until the body recovers.
If there are no bad/painful side effects, carry on.

The only addition is:- if, after working out, there is no sorenes after a day or two, then the workout was not really aggressive enough.  For some people, that is fine.  They wish to maintain flexibility, balance, movement, proprioception, etc.  Many people do not realise that they do not have to nearly kill themselves in a workout in order to stay fit and healthy.

Hope this helps.
