I had a C-Reactive Protein High Sensitivity test done and it came back a 4.9 which puts me as high risk for cariovascular disease. My doctor reccommended that I take crestor, change my diet, and exercise. I have read that the statin drugs can cause liver damage and pain in muscles and joints and still may not do the job. I wanted to know if I change my diet and exercise if this could possibly alter my protein levels in my blood and make the inflammation in my veins and arteries go away or if there is any type of organic vitamin supplements that I could take that might help as well? I am really concerned about the liver damage factor from statin drugs. I have heard alot of bad reports.

I share your concerns about these very powerful drugs called statins.
I personally believe that some things can be changed by lifestyle choices (exercise, diet etc.).
As these are non-invasive and relatively safe, they would be the first attempts I would recommend in lowering your readings of 4.9
Vitamins will not help at all. Neither will any other supplements. In this area there is no benefit to most things organic - that is an expensive fallacy.
However, sometimes things do go wrong with our bodies that cannot be corrected by lifestyle changes and we need medications.
Statins MAY damage your liver. They WILL save your life.
These drugs are always taken in conjunction with a series of blood tests to ensure that there is no liver damage. Also, if you take them, you will very, very soon be definitely aware of adverse effects.
Any changes that statins make are soon reversed when you stop taking them. I understand your concern. But, there is nothing wrong in trying them. There are different "types" of statins. So unless you have what is called a "class reaction" where you cannot take any of them, there is absolutely no harm in giving it a try.
Hope this helps.
I would be interested to learn what happens to you.
Regards,
