A study from Sweden shows that criminals have lower blood cholesterol levels than law-abiding citizens.

Does having a low blood cholesterol cause you to become a criminal? People who have gonorrhea take more antibiotics than those who don't have that disease, but that does not mean that taking antibiotics causes gonorrhea. You would need to show whether having a low cholesterol causes criminal behavior, if criminal behavior causes a low cholesterol, or the same thing that causes criminal behavior also causes low cholesterol. People who are poor are more likely to do things that get themselves arrested, and people who are poor also are more likely not to get enough food or to be on drugs, both of which cause a lower cholesterol. If you have a low blood cholesterol level, be delighted that you are at low risk for a heart attack, and earn enough money so you will be less likely to break the law.
