Until 2000, there were no topical medications that could treat nails that are deformed by fungus infection. The Food and Drug Administration approved Ciclopirox to treat and cure fungus infections in nails. Another study shows that it also may help to cure warts on the skin. The dosage is a thin layer of the eight percent ciclopirox laquer applied to the wart every night when you go to bed.
