A CURE FOR CYSTIC FIBROSIS?

Mac loves to play soccer

Our grandson Mac has Cystic Fibrosis, a genetic disease affecting approximately 30,000 children and adults in the United States. Once again Mac and his parents, Amy and Pete, and brother Owen are participating in the Great Strides Walk-a-thon for Cystic Fibrosis.

This is a letter from Amy:

"Our son Mac was born with Cystic Fibrosis (CF). It's a devastating genetic disease that affects tens of thousands of children and young adults in the United States. Research and care supported by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is making a huge difference in extending the quality of life for those with CF. Mac is beating the odds of this deadly disease. However, many are not so fortunate. We continue to lose precious lives to CF every day. That's why your help is needed now more than ever to ensure that a cure is found.

Making a donation is easy and secure. Any amount you can donate is greatly appreciated!

Your money will not be wasted. The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is the most efficient voluntary health organization of its kind. It is ranked as the "nation's top health charity that won't waste your money" as quoted in SmartMoney, the magazine of The Wall Street Journal. In other words, they put your money to work as efficiently as possible with 90 cents of each dollar donated going directly to research.

Mac is now nearly seven years old and had a very successful year in kindergarten. Mac is passionate about his sports. He played soccer and basketball this year is on the swim team this summer.

We need your help to find a cure. Thanks for your support!"
