Mark Twain claimed that giving up smoking is easy. He does it every day. The same applies to losing weight.

An article in the International Journal of Obesity shows that at some time in their lives, most North Americans have lost more than 10% of their weight and kept it off for at least one year. However, almost all regain that weight. It is extremely uncommon for a person to lose more than 20 pounds and keep it off for the rest of his life.

If you want to lose weight and keep it off, you have to start an exercise program that involves others, so you can use it as a social event. You also have to change your kitchen. Avoid foods that raise insulin to high levels such as bakery products, pastas, and sugar added foods. You should eat lots of whole grains, beans, seeds and vegetables and eat root vegetables and fruits only with other foods.
