1/4 cup Bran Buds
1/4 cup mixed nuts and seeds
1 teaspoon flaxseed (whole, crushed or ground; optional)
1/3 cup blueberries (fresh or frozen)
2 teaspoons dark cocoa powder
1/4 cup cooked whole grains (barley, brown rice, wheatberries, oats, whatever you prefer)
1/4 cup yogurt (plain or flavored)
1/3 cup pomegranate juice
1 teaspoon sugar or honey to taste (optional)
Mix the dry ingredients in a cup and set aside.
Stir all of the moist ingredients in a bowl. When you are ready to eat, stir in the dry ingredients.
Variations: You can substitute or add your own favorite ingredients — fruits, nuts, cereals — and adjust the quantities to suit yourself. The dry mix can be made in a much larger amount and stored (sealed) so you can just scoop out a day’s portion when you are ready.
